Rutgers School of Public Health seeks senior level (Associate or Full) Professor in Health Economics-tenure track. Doctoral degree in economics or equivalent required. Seeking a creative, collaborative faculty member motivated to understand and improve public health through scholarship, service, and policy development; will contribute to the teaching mission using modern pedagogical techniques; and will mentor MPH/doctoral students. Additional requirements: demonstrated ability to develop/lead a program of health economics research, a strong record of scholarly achievement, sustained extramural research funding as Principal Investigator, experience in teaching, and mentoring a new generation of public health researchers, evidence of community engagement, and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and anti-racism.

Candidate will enhance, complement, and deepen our department strengths, including: public health policy interventions, health care access/utilization, health care decision-making, behavioral economics, analyses of provider behavior, financial toxicity/medical debt, health care coverage, and financing issues. Teaching assignments: MPH core course in Health Systems and Policy and concentration required course in Heath Care Economics. Interests in addressing health inequities, and those who can collaborate with faculty members in our other concentrations – Social and Behavioral Health Sciences, Population Mental Health, and Population Aging – will be prioritized.
