Paraskevi Maria Georgiou graduated from the Department of Business Administration of the University of Patras in 2008 and received her Master’s Degree in International Health Policy (MSc) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2011.
With more than fourteen years of experience in market access, pricing and reimbursement, she works for the biotechnology company BioMarin, based in San Rafael, California, as the lead of global reimbursement. In previous roles, she had led and coordinated projects and public policy initiatives aimed at improving patient access and outcomes.
Her academic interests focus on topics such as health policies, health economics, economic evaluation of drugs and health technologies, rare diseases and gene therapies.
Paraskevi Maria is a PhD candidate at the Department of Public Health Policy of the University of Western Attica (PADA) on the subject of investigating the development of the Pan-European Health Technology Assessment (HTA) for Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products. (ATMPs) in order to develop the methodology and evaluation criteria of an HTA model for ATMPs.
